The concept
The key focus to develop the design was to signify the amalgamation of Idea, intelligence and innovation. The invention of electric bulb by Sir Edison gave life to the word "Eureka" which means "I have found it". Hence the silhouette of the great invention stands best for innovation with intelligence. The red focus dots creating glowing tungsten gives a feel of the expression, "Great Idea!"

The design
The logo is created using soft lines where the "ii" (innovation and incubator) is shed with the dome of "D" (design), giving Design Innovation Incubator as the logo. The design reads itself as a complete bulb by the gestalts law of closure. The contrast of colour is clearly to keep the lighted bulb in the viewers perseverance.

Typeface and colour
Keeping in mind NIFT logo, the design is not edgy. The double i's are reflection of the college logo's alphabets typeface, giving the tungsten of the bulb. The colour of the logo is also picked from the NIFT logo, keeping the focus red dots of the "i" into the purpose stating -"radiating ideas".
